What Do YOU Need Right Now?

When was the last time you stopped long enough to ask yourself:

What do I actually need right now?

Not what does my family need?

What do my kids need?

My partner?

My work?

Not what needs to get crossed off that never-ending to-do list?

What do YOU need?

Not sure? That's okay. Try this.

Lower your gaze, or close your eyes.

Bring a hand to heart, hand to belly.

Take a slow deep breath in... pause at top... exhale with an audible sigh.

Repeat two more times.

And then, ask yourself...

What does my body need?

What would feel good?

What needs to be expressed?

What am I tired of carrying?

What am I craving more of?

And then maybe the harder question...

Am I willing to listen to the answer?

I've been thinking about this a lot as I prepare for Brave Women this Saturday.

Because one of the things I've learned in my own life is how easy it is to become disconnected from those answers.

I spent years overriding myself.

Saying yes before I even gave myself enough time to notice that something inside me was saying no.

Swallowing words.

Ignoring signals from my body.

Pushing when I needed rest.

Holding back when some part of me desperately wanted to move, speak, create, express, be seen.

And I got really good at it.

Until I started practicing something different.

Listening.

Pausing long enough to actually hear myself.

Not perfectly.

Not every single time.

But enough that the relationship I have with myself today is radically different from the one I had years ago.

And THAT is what being a Wild Woman means to me.

Not some woman with wild hair howling naked at the moon.

Although no judgment if that's your thing 🔥

I'm talking about being connected enough to ourselves to notice.

To notice the YES.

The NO.

The I'm exhausted.

The I want more.

The this doesn't feel right.

The holy shit, I really want this.

The I need to move.

And the I need to stop.

That's the exploration we're bringing into Brave Women this Saturday.

And there's a reason we're doing it through both JourneyDance AND Yoga Nidra.

Because sometimes coming back to ourselves looks like movement.

Shaking.

Dancing.

Breathing.

Making sound.

Letting the body express what words can't always reach.

And sometimes...

it looks like getting still.

Resting.

Softening.

Receiving.

Giving yourself enough quiet to notice what's actually there.

Movement and stillness.

Expression and listening.

JourneyDance® and Yoga Nidra.

Two very different practices creating space for the same thing:

YOU.

Not who you're supposed to be.

Not what anyone else needs from you.

Not my version of what a Wild Woman should be.

Space to hear yourself.

So maybe you already know exactly what you need right now.

Or maybe you have absolutely no freakin clue.

Either way...

Come find out with us 💜

P.S. You don't need to know how to dance. You don't need to be flexible. And you definitely don't need to know what your “Wild Woman” looks like. Come exactly as you are. That's the whole point

P.P.S. Already registered? Consider this your reminder to actually show up for the space you said yes to. You don't need to arrive with anything figured out. Bring yourself, whatever you're carrying, and whatever you're needing. I'll meet you there.
