Can you believe it's November 2nd?
I feel like we say some version of this every time the calendar turns, but October FLEW by.
And now here we are.
November.
The holidays are coming. The calendar is filling up. The end-of-year pressure is starting to creep in.
In my head, I have six weeks left.
Six weeks to get everything done that needs to get done for Superfine Synergy.
Six weeks of an already-full calendar.
Six weeks before we're somehow looking at another year in the rear-view mirror, wondering how the hell we got there so quickly.
And I'm heading into those six weeks just getting over being sick for the first time in a really long time.
So maybe it's no coincidence that the theme I chose for us this November is Rooted & Resilient.
I actually chose it months ago because even though every November is different, somehow it brings a lot of the same things.
There are holidays and gatherings and people to feed and gifts to think about and work that somehow MUST be finished before December 31st.
And suddenly, we're supposed to be doing all of that while also being merry and bright 😂
Here's the thing, though:
I LOVE this time of year.
I love cooking. I love baking. I love feeding people. My wife and I start watching holiday movies and go into full holiday mode, and I'm genuinely excited about all of it.
I'm also looking forward to the break that comes with it.
Both things are true.
This season can be joyful and exciting and magical...
...and it can be A LOT.
Which is exactly why Rooted & Resilient feels right.
Because when life gets full, one of the first things we can lose is our connection to ourselves.
We're moving from thing to thing. Taking care of what needs taking care of. Showing up for work. Showing up for people. Looking at our calendars and trying to figure out where the hell we're going to fit one more thing.
And then there's the noise outside our own lives.
Every time we open the internet, there's another reason we're apparently supposed to panic.
Another headline.
Another prediction.
Another THIS IS HAPPENING AND YOU NEED TO PREPARE RIGHT NOW.
It's a lot of noise to navigate while trying to hear yourself.
So this November, I want us to practice coming back.
Back to our bodies.
Back to the things that nourish us.
Back to the practices that help us find our footing.
Back to laughter. Dancing. Rest.
Back to the reminder that we do not have to be superhuman robots.
And back to surrender, too.
Because sometimes being rooted means being okay with what doesn't happen.
Over the years, resilience has come to mean something very different to me.
It's not about how fast you bounce back.
It's knowing that you can come back.
It's remembering our strength and our courage — not so we can power through, push harder, or prove how much we can handle.
But so that when hard things happen, we can remember:
I've been through hard things before.
I can tend to myself while I move through this one.
And I don't have to rush my way to the other side.
That's the kind of resilience I want us to explore this month.
Not becoming better at enduring.
Becoming better at returning.
And maybe even becoming a little more willing to question the things we think we have to do.
Case in point: I'm not making a turkey for Thanksgiving this year.
I don't really like turkey.
So WHY AM I MAKING A TURKEY?! 😂
I'm making all the sides. I'm making sweets. I'm feeding people. There will be another protein.
Thanksgiving will survive.
And so will I.
Maybe that's a tiny version of being rooted, too.
Knowing what matters to you.
Knowing what doesn't.
And giving yourself permission to act accordingly.
Throughout November, our practices and gatherings will give us opportunities to reconnect to ourselves and one another through movement, rest, reflection, laughter, and community.
Scroll down to see what’s happening this month...
You don't have to do all of it.
Come to what calls you.
Use the replays when you need them.
Rest when you need to rest.
And when things inevitably get a little scattered over these next two months, remember that being rooted doesn't mean you never get knocked off center.
And being resilient doesn't mean you're unaffected by what happens around you.
It's knowing how to find your way back.
So maybe the question we carry through November is simply:
What brings me back to myself?
And can I make a little more room for that?
Here’s to a November of rooting, returning, laughing, resting, surrendering — and maybe not making the damn turkey lol.
With love and gratitude 💜
— Danielle
