I Want It All to Happen NOW
Fall is arriving here in the Catskill Mountains.
The leaves are changing. The temperature is dropping. The sun is setting earlier. The harvest is coming in.
Everywhere I look, nature seems to be saying the same thing:
Let go. Change. Trust what comes next.
And apparently I need the reminder.
Because lately, one of the things I’m working on letting go of is my need for everything to happen RIGHT NOW.
As we grow Superfine, I can see so much of what I want it to become.
I want us to serve thousands — hundreds of thousands — of women around the world.
I want our live class schedule filled with incredible facilitators.
I want our member portal overflowing with resources and tools women can use to build their own healing, wellness, and somatic toolkits.
And yes, I dream about the physical manifestation of all of this, too.
The land. The farm. The housing. The facilities. A place that shows what's possible when women come together in healing.
I can see it.
My wife and I dream about it.
I talk with people who have incredible ideas for it.
This weekend at Rise, I could feel it.
And then that familiar part of me pipes up:
CAN WE JUST HAVE ALL OF IT NOW?!
Because apparently building something meant to serve hundreds of thousands of women should happen overnight
And when I get caught there?
I feel anxious.
Overwhelmed.
Defeated. Depleted.
Sometimes I even get to that awful place of, What's the point?
The difference is that now I can catch myself doing it.
In fact, I’ve been watching these thoughts pop up over the last few days — literally as we approach October and I prepare to lead a Brave Women gathering about the courage to let go.
Oh, the irony.
A few years ago, one of those thoughts could have moved in and made itself comfortable for DAYS.
Now I can notice it and say:
No. I'm not going to make this thought my truth.
It's a thought.
That's it.
I don't have to become it. I don't have to build a story around it. And I don't have to let it determine what happens next.
Maybe that's part of letting go, too.
Not some grand declaration that we're DONE with the thing forever.
But noticing when we're gripping.
Getting curious about why.
And, when we're ready, loosening our hold.
Which is kind of funny when I look outside.
The trees aren't desperately trying to hold onto their leaves.
They're not screaming, WAIT! I'M NOT READY! WHAT IF THEY DON'T COME BACK?!
They let them go.
Not because letting go is the opposite of growth.
Because sometimes letting go is how transformation begins.
That's what we're exploring this Saturday, October 3 at Brave Women: The Courage to Let Go.
And I want to be clear about something:
I don't believe we can force ourselves to let go.
We can think we should be over something.
Someone else can tell us it's time to move on.
We can read the book, listen to the podcast, journal about it 47 times...
But I think true letting go happens when we're ready.
What we can do is create the conditions for it.
Curiosity.
Compassion.
Movement.
Rest.
Space to reconnect with ourselves instead of the stories we've been carrying.
And that's what we're going to do together.
We'll start with JourneyDance — moving our bodies, moving some energy, playing, dancing, reconnecting to joy and pleasure.
Then we'll move into Yoga Nidra and consciously choose rest.
We'll mobilize.
Then we'll restore.
And maybe that's reason enough to come.
Because we're all carrying a LOT.
We're overworked. Overburdened. Tired.
So for two hours on a Saturday night, you get to put some of it down.
You don't have to drive anywhere.
You don't have to get dressed up.
Come in your pajamas.
Your camera doesn't even have to be on.
Grab a friend and make a night of it.
Or close the bedroom door and make it two hours completely for yourself.
It costs you nothing.
And if Saturday night genuinely doesn't work? Sign up anyway.
You'll get the recording and playlist, with access for two weeks.
Just please don't make yourself the thing you keep putting off.
Why wait another month to give yourself two hours?
Come move.
Come rest.
Come practice loosening your grip on whatever you're ready to stop carrying.
I'll be practicing right alongside you 💜
