What If You're Not Behind?A Full Moon Reflection on Trust, Growth & Letting Go

This week, I caught myself thinking... "I can't believe we're already halfway through the year."

My next thought wasn't, "Look how far I've come."

It was... "I'm not far enough along."

Four months into building a nonprofit.

Halfway through the year.

Already mentally calculating everything I still want to accomplish before November arrives and the holiday season begins.

And underneath all of that, I have this deep desire to take a week off.

Not to travel.
Not to plan.
Not to be productive.

Just to stay home.

To read.
Bake.
Sit in the sun.
And simply be.

And almost immediately, another voice chimed in... "Who am I to take a week off? I haven't accomplished enough yet."

Maybe you know that voice, too.

The one that quietly whispers you're behind.

That you should be doing more.
Achieving more.
Holding it all together just a little better.

It's a story I've been working really hard to rewrite.

Maybe you are, too.

This Monday's Full Moon in Capricorn arrives at the halfway point of the year, offering us a chance to pause before rushing into what's next.

With Mercury retrograde beginning the same day, we're invited to revisit the stories we've been telling ourselves.

Not to judge them.
Not to shame ourselves for them.

Simply to ask: Are they still true?

One of the reasons I love our monthly Full Moon gatherings is that they give me a rhythm for checking in with myself.

Every month, I come back to two simple questions:
What am I ready to release?
What am I ready to forgive?

I've been asking those same two questions every month for years.

They continue to change me.

Because when we don't process what we're carrying, it doesn't simply disappear.

It settles into our bodies.

Our shoulders tighten.
Our breath becomes shallow.
Our nervous systems stay on high alert.

Our bodies are always communicating with us.

The question is... are we listening?

That's one of the reasons I love bringing JourneyDance® into our Full Moon ceremonies.

Every Full Moon begins with reflection.

We write.
We release.
We forgive.

And then...

We let the body do what the mind alone can't.

We move.

Healing doesn't happen simply because we understand our stories.

Healing happens when the body has the opportunity to experience something different.

Sometimes our bodies know the way before our minds catch up.

This Monday, we'll gather for our Full Moon Ceremony & JourneyDance®.

We'll reflect on the first half of the year.
Honor how far we've come.
Release what no longer serves us.
Forgive what we're ready to leave behind.

Through reflection, ritual, breath, movement, music, and intention, we'll create space for whatever comes next.

For the past month, I've been anchoring into one simple mantra:
Whatever comes, I trust myself to meet it.

Lately, that mantra has become a place to land whenever uncertainty shows up.

I don't get it right every time. But I keep coming back to it.

Maybe that's what this Full Moon is inviting us to remember.

Not that we need to do more.

But that we can trust ourselves more.

And if you need to hear this as much as I do...
You're not behind. You're right on time.

If this speaks to your heart, I hope you'll join us on Monday 💜

P.S. On Monday, when the full moon arrives, spend a few quiet moments with these questions:

🌕 Where have I grown more than I've given myself credit for?

🌕 What responsibility, expectation, or pressure no longer belongs to me?

🌕 What do I want to build during the second half of this year — and what support will I need?
