I Don’t Want My Body to Make the Decision for Me

I’ve had moments when I knew I needed to slow down.
And I didn’t.

I was tired.
My body was giving me signals.
Some part of me knew I was pushing too hard.

But there was too much to do.
So I kept going.

I told myself I didn’t have a choice.

And eventually?
My body made the choice for me.

I had to stop.

Not for an hour or an afternoon.

But for weeks — because I had pushed myself to the point where slowing down was no longer optional.

I’ve experienced this pattern enough times that I pay much closer attention now.

When I start getting those little signals that say…Danielle, you’re doing too much.
You need to slow down.
You need to take better care of yourself.

…I try to listen.

Because I don’t want to wait for a bigger situation to force me into rest.

And I know I’m not the only one who has done this.

We live in a culture that constantly tells us:
Do more.
Go faster.
Have more.
Keep up.

And somewhere along the way, we start believing that rest, joy, happiness, and even taking care of ourselves can happen… later.

After the deadline.
After this busy season.
After everyone else is okay.
After we get through this week.

Then we’ll slow down.

But I don’t think I need to tell you that another busy week is always waiting.

This is part of why I created The Superfine Reset.

And I want you to know something — I’m taking the day, too.

Yes, I’ll be guiding our three experiences.

But between them?

I’m not planning to go back to my desk and squeeze in three more hours of work.

I’m going to practice what I’m inviting you to practice.

I’m going to create space.

Go outside.
Sit in the sun.
Eat something nourishing.
Rest.
Listen to what I need.

Because I don’t want to stand on the other side of a screen and tell you, “Just take a day off.”

I hate when people say that to me.
Just take a day off, Danielle.

Okay… but there is so much shit to do.

I know that taking time for yourself isn’t always simple.

I know that for some women, taking an entire day truly isn’t possible right now.

That’s why this isn’t about doing self-care perfectly.

It’s about consciously creating some space for yourself.

Maybe that’s the whole day.
Maybe it’s a half day.
Maybe it’s one hour.

On Friday, July 24, we’re creating that space together.

You can join me for:

  • 9–10am ET — Morning Reset Ritual

  • 12–1pm ET — JourneyDance®

  • 3–4pm ET — Yoga Nidra

Three opportunities to reconnect to yourself.

To notice.
To breathe.
To move.
To rest.

You don’t have to wait until everything is done.

You don’t have to wait until life magically calms down.

And you don’t have to wait until your body gives you no other choice.

 You can listen now.

Join us for The Superfine Reset — it’s completely free.
